Mr. Whitman (not Walt, though) made some demented breakcore under the moniker Hrvatski, but under his own name perfected his version of electronic ambient. The album was released on Kranky which slowly but surely became the best ambient/space music labels of 00s. Playthroughs is very meditative album, I suspect Whitman wanted this to be very "krautrocky", very Cluster-like, but he failed. But it is a magnificient failure! :) The essential ambient album of 00s.
